How technology influences culture?
What kind of culture influences through technology can you see from today’s world?
Is there a possibility to reshape the (new) culture today via new technology, How?
The role of media is very important in globalization, as it is one of the easiest means of enforcing new ideas and cultures through different mediums of media. Such as TV programs, movies, and Internet as one of the main forms of media communication. In my opinion, one of the culture influences through technology that I can see from our society is Internet. The Internet has changed the social patterns, life style, and human interaction. In other words, relationships have become commercial. For example in business, the internet acts as new breed of ‘wired’ consumers- they demand detailed information about a company’s products & services. Consumers are now able to criticize a business via newsgroups, chat sites and mailing lists. This leads to customization-businesses using feedback to individualize their services for each online customer. Consumers have realized that their opinions or perceptions can either cause thrive or melt down of a business. Businesses with online websites allow consumers to give feedback. Consumers have the power to challenge or refute any aspects that they find fishy about an organization. This feedback benefits both the consumer and producer because the producer is able to satisfy the consumers and vice versa.
In my notion Internet is controlling many of human interactions. In our society people are addicted to the usage of Internet. To people the advantages of Internet are too much to resist it. People should try to focus on their power and skills more often, rather than depending too much on the Internet. They should think about the time that Internet wasn’t around. Humans should not take their own knowledge and skill for granted.
Reflection on Media Culture Class
Personally I am interested more with the videos that lectures show in class. I think they are very interesting to watch. I gain a lot of information about different topics associated with media. Also videos make it more convenient to learn the topics in class.

Blog Assignment #7 :
The documentary entitled "The Power of Nightmares (Part 3 - Shadow in the Cave)" by Adam Curtis was shown in class on Monday. How do you relate the information given to you in the documentary to the theory of Media Imperialism that we talked about in lecture?
Two Critical Reflection
Media imperialism can be defines as a practice when developing countries began to criticize the control developed countries through media industries. Another definition for media imperialism is when smaller countries lose their identity and dignity to the power (feeding decoy) of media from lager and powerful nations. The power and authority came through people from a positive and optimistic perspective. They lured people into believing these ideologies. Those ideologies were bogus. People cannot believe in these words and ideologies. The video talks about two groups of people, the American non-conservatives and the radical Islamists. They war between these two groups had caused many wars. These wars had killed many people over period of time. For instance, around the American embassy in Kenya and Tanzania two massive suicide bombs were plotted. This attack killed more than 200 people. This example states how media imperialism has a negative impact on the society.
The Power of Nightmares, subtitled The Rise of the Politics of Fear, is a BBC documentary film series, written and produced by Adam Curtis. The Documentary deals with the rise the neo-conservatives in the united states and the movement of radical Islamism. The film points to the origins and the similarities between both groups. It states that threat from radical Islamism (al-qaeda) is evil and sinister. It shows American Neo-Conservatives in a attempt to unite and inspire their people.
